The following table compares the two technologies Matter and Casambi.

The smart home standard Matter was released in the fall of 2022 by the CSA (Connectivity Standards Alliance). Notable members of the Alliance include Google, Apple, Amazon, and other industry giants from various sectors.

Casambi was founded in 2011 by Timo Pakkala and Elena Lehtimäki. The Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) standard, which was previously developed by the two at Nokia among others, provides the foundation for Casambi's business activities. The focus is on lighting control.
